Robert K. Lacy, Esq.

Robert's experience in law, business, leadership, and global cultures brings a unique perspective to his practice of law and his passion for supporting the international and immigrant communities and their families. His law firm represents immigrants and their families in asylum before the US Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals, as for citizenship, residency and visas with the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) and the Department of State. Robert has advised and represented immigrants from more than 85 countries worldwide.

A native of California, Robert has lived and worked around the world. After serving as a US Air Force attorney in Las Vegas, St Louis and Madrid, Spain, he then transitioned into international telecommunications, serving as a business executive for nearly 25 years. He worked and lived in Mexico City, Mexico for five years, and later managed legal, sales, service and technical organizations and companies operating in Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Canada, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Puerto Rico, South Africa and Venezuela. In 2006 he was named President and CEO of an international telecom company operating out of Monterrey, Mexico, with operations in New York City and Toronto, Canada. He subsequently served as a leadership adviser to government agencies, churches, Native American tribes and US and Mexican small businesses. He founded this immigration law firm in 2016.

Robert has traveled extensively throughout most of Europe, Central and South America, as well as to Russia, China, India, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand. He has taught for the University of Maryland (overseas), for Strayer University, and English as a Second Language programs. He is fluent in Spanish.

Robert serves as a national board member of MEDICO, which organizes and sends medical/dental and clinic/school reconstruction teams to Honduras throughout the year. He also serves as Council Vice Chair of Vale United Methodist Church, a historic local church that serves those in need in the broader community. A former scoutmaster of boy scout troops in Illinois and Virginia, he now serves as a committee member for a combined boy and girl scout troop.

Robert is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Court of Military Appeals, and currently practices before the US Immigration Courts, the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the Federal Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the Virginia state courts. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Virginia Bar Association and the Fairfax Bar Association. He is married with three grown children.
